Becoming a foster is more than just opening your home; it’s about opening your heart to a dog or cat in need. As a foster, you provide a temporary, safe, and loving environment for homeless dogs and cats, helping them transition from a life of uncertainty to one filled with hope. Fosters play a crucial role in the rehabilitation and socialization of these animals, preparing them for their forever homes. With all medical care and supplies provided, you can focus entirely on giving these pets the love and attention they deserve, knowing you're making a profound difference in their lives.
Why are Foster Homes Needed?
Rescue330 does not have a physical shelter and depends on foster homes to care for our rescued pets until a forever home can be found. Our foster dogs and cats are rescued from county pounds, veterinarians, and owners who are no longer able to care for their pet.
Why Should I Foster a Dog or Cat?
Fostering a pet can be one of the most rewarding volunteering experiences you can have. By taking a rescued dog or cat into your home, you free up space in a county pound so more homeless pets can find shelter. You help your foster pet learn how to live in a home, meet new people and other animals, and feel safe and loved.
What are the Duties of a Foster?
As a foster parent, you provide daily care and feeding (food is provided by Rescue330), socialization, and transportation to/from medical appointments. You will also attend events and adoption meetings, and communicate with potential adopters. The amount of time a pet is in foster care can vary -- commitment is essential!
I'd Love to Foster Short-Term. Can I Do That?
Yes! Our foster parents are volunteers and have vacations, work travel and other commitments. Short-term (or temp) fosters are needed to care for animals while fosters are out-of-town.
Thank you for your interest in fostering with Rescue330! Our fosters are essential to our mission of rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs and cats in need. Fosters that are available for short-term commitments (i.e. temporary foster while foster is on vacation) are also needed! Please complete the foster application.
