Why are Foster Homes Needed?
Rescue330 does not have a physical shelter and relies on foster homes to provide temporary foster care for our rescued pets until they can find a forever home. Our efforts in fostering a dog or fostering a cat include rescuing animals from county pounds, veterinarians, and owners who are no longer able to care for their pets.
Why Should I Foster a Dog or Cat?
Fostering a dog or cat can be one of the most rewarding volunteering experiences you can have. By providing temporary foster care for a rescued pet, you free up space in a county pound, allowing more homeless animals to find shelter. What are the Duties of a Foster?
As a foster parent, whether you're fostering a cat or fostering a dog, you provide daily care and feeding (food is provided by Rescue330), socialization, and transportation to and from medical appointments. You will also attend events and adoption meetings and communicate with potential adopters. The amount of time a pet spends in temporary foster care can vary, so commitment is essential!
I'd Love to Foster Short-Term. Can I Do That?
Yes! Our foster parents, who volunteer their time, often have vacations, work travel, and other commitments. That's why there is a need for temporary foster care for animals. Whether you are interested in fostering a cat or fostering a dog, short-term fosters are essential to care for pets while their regular fosters are out of town.
